This time of year is definitely NOT my most active period. I’m just trying to stay warm and entertain myself by geeky stuff like these ones:

✴️ adding some custom functions to WordPress (= the back end of this blog)
✴️ catching up on my favorite tv-series (I’m hooked on Ruthless, The Oval and All the Queen’s Men)
✴️ playing with AI tools (yay, Midjourney just got updated!)
✴️ exploring the fediverse (got an account on both Mastodon and Bluesky now)
✴️ designing a fancy Excel spreadsheet for my ex (I’m his virtual office manager)

ChatGPT is a huge help, as always. I’m not using Excel often enough to remember everything I learn each time I do. It’s very convenient to just ask the bot for advice instead of searching online.

It’s been too cold for real power walks, but I did manage a fifteen-minute walk to Djurgården, which is where the Finnish embassy is located. It’s time to elect a new president, so I went over to cast my vote.

Finland’s second official language is Swedish, with about 300,000 speaking it as their mother tongue. Yet, to this day, I haven’t encountered a single Finland-Swede at the embassy. That being said, being served in butchered Swedish is actually part of the charm. 😄 And to be fair, I’m not as fluent in Finnish as they are in Swedish, so I genuinely appreciate the effort. Also, Finns are among the most upstanding, reliable, and down-to-earth people on Earth. ❤️ forever!

On my way back I stopped at the Diplomat and had some breakfast at their lovely café. If you ever visit Stockholm, this hotel is a really nice choice. And for me, it also brings back happy memories because it’s where I met someone very special and ended up exploring Florida from coast to coast.

Next on the to do-list is: getting this blog ready to go live. That’s right, it’s not visible to the world yet! I’ve been blogging behind the curtains for a while just to get an idea of whether doing it in English is too much work or not. Well, the more I write, the more certain I feel about taking the plunge. Now, I’m translating some lifestyle guides from my Swedish blog to build a nice archive for future visitors. 🙂
